Workers Compensation

Reporting a Work-Related Injury or Illness

NOTICE TO ALL KCUESD EMPLOYEES: The District's number one priority is to provide a safe, non-hazardous environment for all staff and students.  However, should you become injured or ill as a result of something related to your employment with KCUESD, we want to ensure you receive immediate and appropriate care.  The steps below outline the proper steps that all KCUESD employees are advised to follow if they experience a work-related injury or illness:

1. Report your injury/illness to your immediate supervisor as soon as possible.
You will be provided with the Workers Comp forms and information about what your options are.

2. Seek medical treatment.
Unless you have a Pre-Designation of a Personal Physician on file with KCUESD prior to your injury/illness, you will be directed to report to one of the pre-authorized Workers Comp treatment centers for initial visits.

3. Return all required forms to Human Resources.
After your medical visit, the physician will provide you with a work status report.  A copy shall be provided to both your immediate supervisor and to Human Resources.  If the physician indicates that you may return to work under restrictions, you will need approval from your supervisor/Human Resources before you may return to work.

For an emergency situation, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.
