•  Welcome Back class of 2019-2020

to another year of fun and learning !

This year marks the start to another great year at Kit Carson Elementary!   I have enjoyed teaching your children and look forward to many more satisfying years with my Kit Carson family.  It is always fun to run into a former student when I am out and about in Hanford or Lemoore!

While not exactly a Kings County native, I now call Lemoore home. I moved here in 1974 right after marrying my husband, Gary. NAS Lemoore was his first, and only, station of duty. When he retired from the Navy in 1994, we moved to Panama City, Florida and lived there until 2005 when we decided to move back "home" to be closer to my family and to escape the yearly hurricane season.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Liberal Studies from California State University Fresno in 1991. My first teaching position in 1991 was a combination 3rd/4th grade class at Delta View Elementary School. I stayed there until we moved to Florida. While in Florida I taught everything from 4th grade through middle school language arts. I attended Florida State University to earn my Master's Degree in Reading and Language Arts.

I believe teachers should be lifelong learners and I am continually learning new things to enhance my teaching. I have been a member of the California History Teacher's Project and completed the three year session. Technology is another area that interests me, and I try to learn as much as I can to better my skills as a technology using educator.
